improved

July 29 - August 11, 2024

Over the past 2 weeks, we've been making enhancements to myV and the store as well as adding OSes for use with our Instant Bare Metal devices. Included with updates to myV and the store are enhancements to the credits system for use with hourly billing and updated notifications for abuse cases.

System fixes and enhancements released between 7/29 and 8/11

  • Store and Storefront related enhancements

    • Resolved a scenario in which logging out and back in while on the checkout page does not show credits until refreshing the page.
    • Enhanced the iPXE URL field in the store to be able to handle pages that include boot strings at the top of the page.
    • Updated the Custom Deployment time in the store to indicate that deployment times may vary depending on the location being deployed to so that the correct expectations are set.

  • MyV enhancements

    • In myV, added notifications for abuse cases so that if the email is missed, the notification is easily visible in myV.
    • In myV on the VLAN Details page, added the device ID next to the device description to make it easier to distinguish and select correct devices.
    • In the "Add Payment Method" modal in myV, updated the styling so that the credit card icons are aligned better and do not get cut off.
    • For sub-accounts that use 2FA and have the Require 2FA to Deploy" permission active, resolved a scenario in which logging out and back in while on the checkout page will display a message "(Two Factor Auth) required for checkout, please enable 2FA first on myVelocity" upon clicking on the cart icon instead of displaying the "Proceed to Checkout" button.
    • For VPS snapshots in myV, updated the table to display "Deleting" as the status instead of "Failed" when a snapshot is being deleted and the table refreshes before the procedure is completed.
    • Enhanced how credits can be used for the purchase of hourly devices:
      • In myV, Billing-->Credits page now displays a credits breakdown between those reserved for hourly devices on the account and available credits for new purchases
      • When ordering a new device in store, the user can use the account credits not allotted for hourly devices already on the account towards the purchase of a new device. If the new device is an hourly device, the credits are automatically applied and greyed out so they cannot be deselected.
In the Credits hover-over on the Credit History table in myV, updated the "click here" link in the "new Orders" bullet to point to hivelocity.net/pricing.
In myV, added the ability to set hostnames for VPS devices.
